Lil Wayne is a famous rapper who had been in the business since a very young age. Lil Wayne comes from a very poor section of New Orleans known as Hollygrave. Lil Wayne grew up with his mother. His father left the family when he was just an infant. Up until Lil Wayne was sixteen, Reginald “Rabbit” Carter has been acting as his step father.
As a young boy, Lil Wayne was already fascinated with the rap industry. He was especially interested in Cash Money Artists such as Pimp Daddy and U N L V. The Cash Money Artists were a group of rappers from the New Orleans area. Lil Wayne wanted to be one of them.
Lil Wayne began rapping at block parties and house parties. He caught the attention of Lil Slim. Lil Slim was an earlier Cash Money Records artist who came from the same neighborhood as Lil Wayne. After hearing Lil Wayne, Lil Slim let him come along to an autograph signing. It was there that he met Ronald and Brian Williams, the two owners of Cash Money Records. The Williams brothers were very impressed with what they heard. He wanted to see how tenacious Lil Wayne would be. At eleven years old, Lil Wayne began calling Cash Money Records every day, free styling on Baby’s answering machine. He haunted the offices of Cash Money Records every day. Finally, Baby saw so much engagement in Lil Wayne that he decided to sign him.
Baby hooked Lil Wayne up with another new rapper named Lil Doggie, who later became famous as B.G. The two came together and called themselves The B.G’z. The group released their one and only album titled True Story in 1995. At the age of thirteen, Lil Wayne quit school to pursue his rap career. Most rappers in Lil Wayne’s age group like Romeo or Bow Wow would rap about adolescent issues. Lil Wayne did not use adolescent issues and did not use profanity in his rhymes either.
In 197, Lil Wane hooked up with Juvenile, Turk, and B.G. and formed the Hot Boys. In 1997, they released Get It How You Live with great reviews. The four teenagers had many fans throughout the South and the Midwest. In 1998, they released Guerilla Warfare and in 2003, the released Let
