From WCW Wrestler to WWE Wrestler
Torrie Wilson was born on July 24, 1975 in Boise Idaho. At a young age she realized that she had a desire for stardom. When Torrie was ten years old, her parents got divorced and Torrie had to move to the small town of McCall Idaho. She was very shy but was able to quickly make friends in her new school. She was very involved in cheerleading, dance and track and field. Torrie still new that she wanted more.
Modeling
When Torrie was in high school, she thought a lot about modeling. Her mother wanted to support her in her dream so she took her to a modeling agency. Torrie and her mother were told that she would need to lose weight to even be considered for modeling jobs. Torrie lost eight pounds but so ended up with a four-year bout with bulimia.
WCW (World Championship Wrestling)
Torrie moved to Los Angeles after high school to pursue acting. She began taking acting classes and she found an agent who began getting her work. Torrie’s first acting job was an uncredited role in Baywatch. It wasn’t until a meeting backstage of WCW event with Kevin Nash that Torrie was offered a full time job. Torrie debuted as “Samantha” as acted as valet for David Flair. At 1999 Bash at the Beach, Torrie led Flair over Dean Melanko to capture the WCW United States Championship.
In 1999, Torrie began managing Billy Kidman and his Filthy Animal teammates. A large fiasco began regarding the Filthy Animals and eventually Torrie disappeared from television. Rumors began circulating that Torrie had been let go by the company.
Torrie returned in January to help Billy Kidman and she joined the New Blood faction. Torrie began delivering her signature move, “the kiss of death,” to all of Kidman’s fallen opponents after the matches. Kidman began to get jealous of the attention that Torrie was giving to New Blood member Horace Hogan. Kidman began yelling at her which made Torrie finally snap and deliver a low blow to Kidman at Great American Bash which caused Kidman to lose to Hogan.
WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment)
Torrie came over to the WWE in 2001. She has teamed up regularly with Stacey Keibler. The two of them have continued to defeat Trish Stratus and other Divas. Between arm wrestling matches and bra and panty matches, Torrie has been through a lot.
On-Screen Romance
Torrie has a brief onscreen romance with Maven, another WWE wrestler. Maven and Torrie’s relationship ended after Maven broke his leg.
Playboy
Like many women in the WWE, Torrie Wilson has appeared in Playboy. Torrie and Sable defeated Stacey Keibler and Miss Jackie in a Playboy evening gown match to win the honor of posing for the magazine.
From shy ten year old girl to WWE Diva, Torrie Wilson has come a long way.
